Certified watchmakers with specialized training from some of Switzerland’s leading luxury watch brands.
The watchmakers at Rob. Engström are highly skilled specialists in watch servicing and repair, with extensive experience and expertise in the brands represented in our boutique.
With three specially trained watchmakers in our workshop, we ensure the highest standards of quality and service through continuous education and training directly at the manufacturers’ facilities.
Using the latest technology and industry-leading equipment, our watchmakers restore your timepiece to its original condition—both mechanically and aesthetically.
We also maintain a comprehensive inventory of genuine spare parts for the brands we service, enabling us to meet even the most specialized repair and maintenance requirements.
The watch is completely disassembled, and every component—including the movement, hands, dial, and all other parts—is thoroughly cleaned to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Each component is meticulously examined for signs of wear or damage. Any parts that do not meet the manufacturer’s specifications are replaced with genuine replacement parts to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Specialized lubricants are precisely applied to all moving components and throughout the movement in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
The case and bracelet are meticulously refinished and polished to restore their original appearance, luster, and factory finish.
If the watch is equipped with an acrylic crystal that shows signs of scratching or damage, it will be replaced to restore the watch’s appearance and functionality.
New gaskets are fitted, and the watch case is pressure-tested to ensure water resistance meets the manufacturer’s specifications and performance standards.
The timepiece is tested on a watch winder for three to five days to verify that its accuracy and performance meet the manufacturer’s standards and specifications.

What Does Watch Service and Repair Cost?
The cost of servicing or repairing a timepiece may vary depending on a number of factors, including:
At Rob. Engström, we always provide a preliminary estimate based on these criteria. All estimates must be approved before any work is undertaken, giving you complete confidence and transparency throughout the service process.
How Often Should I Service My Watch?
As a general recommendation, a watch should be serviced approximately every five years under normal daily use. In some cases, however, it may be appropriate to wait longer. We recommend having the movement inspected after five years to determine whether a full service is necessary.
Higher-than-average service costs are often the result of a watch being used for an extended period with insufficient lubrication or worn components. Regular maintenance helps preserve the performance, reliability, and longevity of the timepiece while reducing the risk of more extensive repairs in the future.
How Long Does a Watch Service Take?
The time required to complete a watch service depends on the complexity of the timepiece and any complications it may feature.
A standard service for a simpler model carried out in our workshop typically takes between 8 and 10 weeks, provided that all necessary spare parts are available.
If the watch needs to be sent to the manufacturer for servicing, the process may take longer depending on the brand, the scope of work required, and the availability of parts.
Please note that service lead times may vary throughout the year, particularly during holiday periods and seasonal closures, when staffing levels may be reduced.
Our team will always keep you informed of the estimated turnaround time and notify you of any significant changes during the service process.
Do I Get the Replaced Parts Back After a Service?
No, all of our service prices are based on the exchange of replaced parts, with certain spare parts excluded from this policy.
If you would like information about which components have been replaced during the service, please let us know well in advance of the work being carried out.
In some cases, it may be possible to retain specific replaced parts, subject to the manufacturer’s policies and the availability of exchange components. Please contact us before the service begins if you have any questions regarding replaced parts.
