HISTORY OF PATEK PHILIPPE

It all started in Switzerland, Geneva in 1839 where the watchman Antoni Patek began to build pocket watches with his then companion Franciszek Czapek. In 1844, they broke up and Antoni Patek began to work with French watchmaker Adrien Philippe. In 1851, they founded Patek Philippe together.

Like most other Swiss manufacturers, most of Patek Philippe’s expensive watches are built with mechanical caliber, either with self-pulling mechanism or with manual mechanism. With they also made of left-hand caliber, that is, watchwork powered by battery. A Patek Philippe watch is built by parts that they themselves manufacture. They have manufactured their own parts to all watches that have been built since the company was started.
